CloudCheckr Update Follows the Money

This week’s CloudCheckr update is right on the money, because many of this week’s enhancements are found in the Cost and Billing features of CloudCheckr.

AWS UPDATES

For the Amazon Web Services Detailed Billing Report, we let you run a Summarization report and you can now filter by Cost Type (Unblended/Blended or List Price.) For our tiered resellers who service other resellers, we allow them to pass credits through to their resellers. Finally, we have also made improvements to the List Cost Analysis CSV export.

Our Fix Now capability keeps getting better. In addition to letting you click a button to have misconfigurations fixed, for many such misconfigurations, you can select to automatically fix such issues upon detection. Now we have added more configuration checks that support Fix Now, specifically focused on EC2 Security Groups that have dangerous or potentially dangerous ports exposed to the public.

AZURE UPDATES

Microsoft recently made some changes to Meter Names to be a little more meaningful, so we have updated the app to match the new naming conventions as well as to support Currency Code and Billing Region options. For Cloud Solution Providers, when generating Advanced Grouping reports, you can now filter by Cost Source. This way you can just look at Azure billing information, or licenses like Microsoft Office 365, or both. We have enhanced Inventory Reports for Azure, offering more details, which is great, but at the same time, if you have too much data to look through, you will appreciate that we now allow you to filter by Resource Group.

We already integrated the Azure Advisor checks into our Best Practice Check view. We now include and break out the Azure Security Center checks side-by-side with our own Best Practice Checks.

GOOGLE CLOUD UPDATES

For those using Google Cloud, our Security tools now monitor changes to Virtual Machines in the Change Monitoring report., in addition to SQL Database Instances.
