CloudCheckr was at the annual AWS World Wide Public Sector Summit in Washington, DC this week. We had a great time connecting with customers and partners, plus meeting plenty of new faces, as the transformation to the cloud in the government sector is most definitely underway. At the event, we were honored to receive recognition for the newly created AWS Government Competency certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS designed the AWS Competency Program to recognize members of its partner program that have, according to AWS, “demonstrated technical proficiency and proven customer success in specialized solution areas.”
The AWS Government Competency specifically highlights partners who provide solutions to and have deep experience working with government customers for the purposes of delivering mission-critical workloads and applications on AWS. The inclusion in the AWS government competency list just further validates our commitment to helping our customers leverage the power of the cloud and keep it in check. We are very excited about this privilege to help agencies across a variety of use-cases in continuous monitoring, cost management, security and compliance, resource utilization and asset management meet the mission.
The buzz at the event this year across the 7,500+ attendees was the increased mandates around moving to the cloud sooner rather than later. Undoubtedly there is lots of momentum happening inside the US Federal Government as well as State, Local and Nonprofit agencies to get to the cloud sooner rather than later with certain agencies beginning to set internal expectations within the next fiscal year. In addition to having the opportunity to introduce CloudCheckr to the AWS ecosystem, we held a standing room only session around Hack-Proofing Your Cloud Against 2016 Threats as well as participated in an AWS-led Cost Optimization Panel.
